The beautiful building, built in 1925, is one of the state's important historical monuments and was donated to the state for renovation following its closure in the 1970s. In December 1984, it reopened with restored chandeliers and stained glass windows and was opened by the Shreveport Symphonic Orchestra. Today, it hosts Broadway-style musicals, concerts, dance shows, comedy shows, etc. The hall is quite majestic and holds just over 1,500 spectators.
