Shreveport Municipal Auditorium still hosts musical performances on its stage today.
Fans will know what this Art Deco building represents. Others will quickly learn that Shreveport is also known, at least in the United States, for having hosted the first performance of The King - who gave his name to the avenue and whose statue sits at the entrance of the auditorium - on October 16, 1954, during the Louisiana Hayride Show, a very popular music program. The venue still hosts musical performances on its stage today.
