WAXYAH CAVES
A maze of huge rocks looking like dolmen, caves with vaults supported by huge pillars like so many petrified pachyderm paws, in the middle of a luxuriant vegetation which merges with the rock: the site of the caves is incredible and unique in its kind! A part of the caves is easily accessible and one walks there without any problem as in a gallery. But it seems to belong to a network of rocky cavities still largely unexplored. A world in itself, an ideal place for campers and explorers. Be careful, however, to report to the village chief, who is close to the site. He will have you accompanied by a young person of the village against a small tip. The caves are located 30 km from Fria and 6 km from Tormelin. From Tormelin, take a track on the right (coming from Tanéné, at a speed bump). We cross a first village and at the second village, we park the car. The site is located at 10-15 minutes on foot from the village.
From Ciréyah, it is also possible to discover the Bolondé Falls. It is then necessary to continue by vehicle to the village of Kansatah a few kilometers away. The end of the way is on foot. After 2 km through the bush, we climb a hill by a somewhat steep path to finally reach the site. The arrival at the falls will make you quickly forget the difficulty of this small "ascent". As a bonus, the site offers a beautiful panoramic view of the valley. A must-see especially during the rainy season!
