HAMILTON'S CELLARS
A string of caves to the south of the village, once inhabited by Lucayan Indians, now home to bats.
To the south of the village, you can visit this string of caves decorated with stalagmites and stalactites, once inhabited by the Lucayan Indians. The main cave is one of the largest in the Bahamas and the connecting tunnels between the caves can reach 8 meters wide by 3 meters high. In 1935, pre-Columbian pictographs attributed to the Lucayan Indians were identified in the cave, and they were used by the Lucayan Indians until the arrival of Christopher Columbus. Bats replaced the Lucayans and are now the official inhabitants of the caves
