An open-air jazz festival in a village in the heart of the Semenic Mountains, with a high quality international line-up.
The tiny village of Gărâna, nestled in the Semenic Mountains in the southwest of the country, hosts a renowned and hugely popular international jazz festival every July (usually during the second week), which has been attracting several thousand people since 1997, thanks to a team of enthusiasts for the genre. Over the years, the festival has welcomed artists such as Charles Lloyd, Biréli Lagrène and Avishay Cohen. Concerts are held in the open air, in the Poiana Lupului meadow, and the atmosphere is bohemian.
