RUINS OF THE BASILICA OF NICULIŢEL

The oldest construction of this wine-growing village, the church and crypt were founded by Emperor Leconte in the year 370 (christian period). Discovered in the 1970 s, it has been partially rebuilt, but much remains to be done. Inside the crypt there are two tombs of superimposed martyrs. At the lower level, the skeletons of two unknown martyrs were discovered; at the higher level, in a collective casket, four skeletons of martyrs lie in the names engraved on the crypt walls.
