MONASTERY COCOŞ

The «Rooster» monastery was erected in 1835 in a Turkish Oriental style. It houses a museum of medieval and modern art where a collection of ancient books and icons is found, as well as important documents relating to the Ottoman period. The path leads through hills planted with vines and leads to a beautiful esplanade. Founded in 1846 by the monks of Celic-Dere, the monastery is now managed by nuns.
