Inside the enclosure of Al-Kab, there are two temples, that of Thoth and the temple of Nekhbet. The latter corresponds to the temple of the vulture goddess. The original temple was built in the 18th Dynasty, and later rebuilt in the 25th and 30th Dynasties. Today only the brick walls and the site of the sacred lake east of the temple remain. The second temple dates mainly from the reign of Ramses II. It was built in honour of the god Thoth. These temples are nowadays in ruins, only the foundations are preserved.
