Built in 1873 by Don Francisco Capurro, La Quinta was the childhood home of the famous writer José Enrique Rodó. Exhibitions of local crafts and products are held here twice a month. The old buildings, paths and gardens are worth a visit. La Quinta has its own nursery with a wide variety of plants and trees, including palms such as coco chileno and palmera datilera, paper trees, plane trees, and flowers such as camellias and wisteria.
