DAMASCA ONE

A late-night Souq Waqif institution serving delicious Syrian cuisine. You can sit outside on the busy street, in an air-conditioned interior or upstairs on a sheltered terrace, in a decor of cushions, colored stained glass and pretty woodwork. The waiters, dressed as if in Damascus, are efficient and friendly. For starters, fried eggplant with pomegranate is delicious, as is chicken kebab with walnuts or rice with lamb and yoghurt, a Damascus specialty. Occasional Syrian whirling dervishes or a small concert.
