The seductive Hyatt Regency Oryx Doha is a bubble of luxury between Souq Waqif and the airport. Its rectangular shape is a welcome change from the towers of the city center. It unfolds its lounges under an immense glass roof, and features 400 rooms, some of them affordable. For relaxation: an Olympic-size outdoor pool and a state-of-the-art spa. The Lebanese cuisine of the Al Nafourah Garden restaurant is refined, as are the bottles of the Spanish restaurant The Cellar. Rubix is a fancy cocktail bar ("ladies night" on Mondays and Fridays, "jazz night" on Wednesdays).

We were given an upgrade to a suite because the hotel was oversold on the room we had booked. However, the suite was a smoking suite and while not terribly unpleasant, there was a slight smell of smoke in the room which would be expected for a smoking room, but not what we had expected to receive. Also the room was slightly outdated . The room was very spacious which we appreciated. I did hear noises at night but I am a light sleeper so that might not affect you. Overall quality was very good. Room was very clean and spacious, just not updated and a little bit noisy.
Oh, I should also mention that a really nice touch was the fresh fruit and cookies that they had put out in our room upon entry
I might pick a different hotel next time, but I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
