Carefully restored, these multi-storey fortified towers, pierced by loopholes and crenellated at the top, were used in the 19th century by Cheick Mohammed Bin Jassim Al Thani to keep an eye out for potential attackers. T-shaped, they protected their occupants and enabled them to watch for Ottoman enemies in search of water and dates. For pearl fishermen, the two original towers served as coastal markers. The fenced-in perimeter can be accessed from here to capture beautiful photos of this historic monument.
