The ruins of this now abandoned village are freely accessible and are indicated from the main road leading to Al Zubarah fort. Built in the mid-19th century, it was inhabited by the Al Kubaisi family tribe until the mid-20th century, who made their living from fishing fish and pearls, as did many Qataris. It was a rather important village before being totally abandoned by the family who became city dwellers during the oil boom. We discover there some traditional houses and a mosque whose minaret is still standing.
