This fort was built in the 19th century to protect the water source located there. It is located not far from the road linking Al Zubarah fort and the city of Madinat Al Shamal (and indicated by signs). It was also a refuge for the local population in case of tribal conflicts, which were very frequent in the region at that time. Renovated in the 1980s, the original architectural structure has been respected. Three rectangular towers and a round tower (a typical desert structure) delimit a courtyard with blind rooms.
