Perched above the cave, the citadel would have been built in the twelfth century, we do not know well by whom: the Turks, the Byzantines or the Crusaders... It offers a good panorama on the mosques and basins below. Outside the ramparts, you can see two Corinthian columns, which were once part of a winter palace, built here between the 2nd and 3rd centuries. Not much else. Oh yes! The name of a queen, Shalmath, is engraved in Syriac on a column. Avoid going there after the end of the day.
