The citadel dominates the city and is a must-see. Probably built by the Romans, it was renovated by Emperor Justinian in the 6th century, enlarged and modified by the Seljuks between the 12th and 13th centuries. In addition to a view over the city, magnificent at sunset, it houses the Museum of Resistance, the Panoramic Museum of Heroism and Defense of Gaziantep, which recalls the events of the war and pays tribute to those who fought against the British and French.
