Mamure Castle (Mamure Kalesi), located 7 km from Anamur, was built in the 3rd century by the Romans, then used by the Byzantines and Armenians before being enlarged by the Crusaders. The Seljuk sultan, Alaeddin Keykubat took it in 1221. It then passed into the hands of the Ottomans who reinforced it. With its 39 towers and three courtyards, the castle is surrounded on one side by the sea and on the other by a moat. Admire the view from the top of the keep.
