Town located east of Arnhem Land, 20 min from the aboriginal community of Yirrkala, with wonderful campsites.

Nhulunbuy is a small town in the east of Arnhem Land, established by the nearby iron ore mine, 20 minutes from the Aboriginal community of Yirrkala. You can get there by plane via Airnorth or by car via the Central Arnhem Road but will need a good 4WD, it takes about 15 hours drive from Darwin. In Nhulunbuy, you can rent a 4WD to explore the area, especially the campsites on the coast which are absolutely wonderful. Accommodation is available at Walkabout Lodge or at Yirrkala in Buku, to be booked in advance.
