PALM VALLEY
A lush gorge in the West Macdonnell Ranges, adorned with plants straight from the age of the dinosaurs.
A lush gorge populated by plants straight from the dinosaur era, such as red cabbage palms and cycas. The site gathers about 3,000 adult palms and thousands of palms still in their juvenile state, very sensitive to the impact of visitors. Access is via a 16 km track following the dry bed of the Finke River, only by 4x4 and is for experienced drivers. Bring plenty of water and food with you just in case. Heavy rains sometimes make the road impassable. Camping on site to be booked online.
