REDBANK GORGE
An establishment in the West Macdonnell Ranges with water courses to delight the adventurous.
A visit to Red Bank Gorge requires preparation, and a 4x4 is recommended. Its water trail through the gorge (there is no water in the gorge year-round, so check before you go) after the 1.5-hour hike has an Indiana Jones feel that will enchant adventurers. This is also where the final ascent of the Larapinta Trail to Mount Sonder starts, one of the most beautiful hikes in the West Macs (4 hours, to be avoided when it is very hot). Some people decide to start at night to get to the absolutely beautiful sunrise.
