Imagine a bistro guinguette on the banks of the old Saône, where you can enjoy a friture d'ablettes aïoli. Well, that's the Cascarot. Valérie and Cyril have breathed new life into this historic Châtelet bistro. The terrace looks out over the tranquil Saône River. The cuisine is based on fresh, seasonal produce, and the fries are also cut fresh in the morning. The restaurant's layout allows for the organization of evening broadcasts, concerts or karaoke evenings, with a beautiful dedicated room. A pontoon is available for docking pleasure boaters.

Une guinguette telle qu'on la rêve, en bord de Saône, terrasse ensoleillée avec vue sur les hérons, le saut des poissons et une ancienne écluse. Super service et repas. En résumé: étape inoubliable!

Je n'ai pas essayé l'hôtel mais découvert ce restaurant, sur les conseils de l'épicerie de Pagny-le-Château. Un lieu d'une grande beauté pour déjeuner en terrasse, au bord de la Saône sauvage. Et un repas excellent, élaboré à partir de produits locaux et de saison (15€ le menu de trois services !). Je reviendrai.
