KEALAKEKUA BAY STATE HISTORICAL PARK
This park is one of the most beautiful sites on the island of Hawaii and a must for lovers of marine life
One of the most beautiful sites on the island of Hawaii and a must-see for seabed lovers! No need to dive with tanks, you can already see a lot of multicolored fish while snorkeling! And for those who have visited Oahu, you will see many more fish than in the waters of Hanauma Bay. The scenery: sharp mountains dominate a turquoise sea filled with coral, hence the rich sea bed. Dolphins are fond of this paradise, which they like to visit early in the morning, before the hundred or so tourists who have come to explore the bay, equipped with masks and snorkels, arrive. Access to the bay is easiest by sea, so you can come via an agency in a zodiac or a kayak, the waters being very calm. By road, you have to go to the end of Napoopoo Road and park your car there. From there, you can access the mini beach of Napoopoo Beach which is part of the bay and you can easily reach the site by swimming. The calm and clear waters of Kealakekua are perfect for swimming in general. From there, you can also reach the small beach of Manini beach which also has a small parking lot. Be careful not to block the entrances of the locals who are under attack by tourists every day. No sand on Manini beach but a nice lawn, ideal for nap or play. Easy access to the water through a small cove. From there, you just have to put your head under water to see turtles and fish.
