CHURCH OF LA MARE DE DÉU DEL TURA
This church was a sanctuary of primary importance before the earthquakes of the 15th century
Before the earthquakes of the 15th century, which partially demolished it, this church was a sanctuary of prime importance. Reshaped in 1763 by Frances Mas, a Catalan architect, and then in 1928 by a Danish architect, its façade is of classical Baroque inspiration and its dome has some old frescoes. According to a legend, it owes its name to an ox, tura in ancient Catalan, who scratched in a place where a statue of the Virgin was found.
