BANDED ISLAND
Go there and contact
Accessible by kayak from Sakouli beach, Bandrélé islet is 2.5 km from the shore. It takes about 40-50 minutes to cover it, or even a little more depending on the currents and your biceps! On the way, you will see the drop off and maybe some turtles. The ideal way to play Robinson alone on an uninhabited islet. The islet has two nice drop offs, one at the level of the sandy beach facing Sakouli, and one on the other side of the island, facing the sea. Don't forget to take your fins, mask and snorkel. Count on 3 hours minimum to enjoy the trip and to leave yourself time on the spot, taking into account however that at low tide it is impossible to make the trip, under penalty of bringing back your kayak shrunken by a few centimeters on the bottom. The watchword is not to be in a hurry, if your schedule allows it, choose to spend the whole day there with something to picnic, without forgetting the sun cream, the glasses and a cap. From the islet, you will enjoy a beautiful view of Sakouli beach and its majestic baobabs. Always keep a landmark to make the return trip without drifting. Several hotels offer kayaks for rent with a sandwich formula for lunch, and all the safety equipment (whistle, waterproof bag, light, topographic map), enough to leave with peace of mind. Hirers advise to call the day before for the schedule and the morning of the trip to check the weather conditions before setting off on the adventure.
