St Vorles would have been born in Marcenay in the 6th century. This simple priest would have lead the Burgundian king Gontran to conversion because by performing worship service he had saved a child from flames thanks to his ubiquity gift! The remains of the saint was discovered in the Marcenay church with being were preserved transferred to Châtillon-sur-Seine. During the Revolution, the relics of the saint were thrown to the vent... But he is still very famous and is celebrated in Châtillonnais for example with this 11th-century church which shelters the tomb of St Vorles at the end the 6th century.
The blast furnace is doubled by a market coal which houses the exhibitors of Maison du Terroir from April to October. Everything is next to the lake. The furnace has operated for over 120 years now. If it still seems too alert, it is due to the assistance provided to Forges de Buffon during its renovation.
