REYKIR MUSEUM
Museum to see fish skin shoes, a beautiful collection of canes and snuffboxes, whips with Argentinean handles
At the regional museum of Reykir, you can see fish skin shoes, a nice collection of rods and snuffboxes, whips with silver handles, bits, old saddles of Amazons... and especially an old shark fishing boat dating from 1875. The whole gives information on shark fishing, on rural life... Small, but really fascinating and well done. A real break in the Iceland of before, more local and traditional. This small museum is located on the edge of road 1, between Hvammstangi and Staðarskáli.
