Dive Sites
King Fisher Reef
Adjacent to the King Fisher Lodge. Ideal for the first dive in Cape Verde or to start your diving course.
Chinese Wall
At the exit of the large bay of Tarrafal. A small, but long wall descends to a maximum depth of 18 meters, perfect for macro photography. You will see frogfish, slugs, octopus and arrow crabs. Returning to the entry point, you can again admire this impressive natural wall.
Ponta Atum North
Slowly descending, with several overhangs, it shelters swarms of West African tang and trumpet fish. There is a cave with a beautiful cover, full of yellow coral. It is also very easy to dive in the caves. There are bearded brotules and Atlantic lobsters. The maximum depth is 25 meters.
Ponta Atum South
Entering the same place as Ponta Atum, you dive away from the overhangs to a particular rock. You will see different schools of sardines, which are chased by tuna and mackerel, very rich in fish! The maximum depth is about 35 meters.
Lighthouse
This site goes down to loose rocks at about 25 meters, with sometimes a weak current. Groups of filefish, different kinds of moray eels as well as large porcupine fish, groups of triggerfish and trumpetfish are often found here.
Three rocks
This site offers the possibility to make at least three different dives at the same place. There are overhangs, walls, columns and passages. With a slightly strong current, this site is reserved for experienced divers, but it is rich in marine life with tuna and mackerel often hunting here. The maximum diving depth is about 40 meters.
The Arc
With its beautiful arch at 9 meters, it is the beginning of the drop-off. In the arch there are always swarms of tang fish and trumpet fish from West Africa. The bottom is full of silkworms. The wall continues to fall, up to 25 meters. In the wall there are many cleaning stations with arrow crabs, shrimps and small slugs, which clean moray eels, small groupers, comeras or West African tangs. At the end, there are several small tunnels to dive through. A good buoyancy is important. It is also a good place for night diving.
Wall one
A continuation of "The Arc". There are schools of fish and mackerel hunting. You can dive around large rocks, before the wall continues. The whole wall is full of life. Macro or fish portrait - this is the question. Depth of about 35 meters maximum.
Wall two
Another continuation of the long wall with more holes and columns, but with an easier overhang. Different schools of fish follow the wall downwards - partly an endless game. Depth of about 35 meters maximum.
Colonato
This rocky landscape, with many holes, gives you the possibility to look inside or even dive through. In the small columns, the experienced eye can even see different octopuses. With a little luck, a stingray can be found in one of the larger columns. The maximum depth is about 20 meters.
Black Jack
the reef starts at about 18 meters and is therefore not for beginners. A nice drop-off with small holes and columns. There are often macherels hunting.
Amaro
is a small plateau at 36 m (blue water descent). Due to the depth, it is a shorter dive with a great chance to see yellowtail at 2 meters. Only for experienced divers.
Agodoli
in fact there are 3 dive spots - West (deep direction) some sandy parts with different rocks; possibility to see rays or schools of fish - North direction a relaxing dive along the coast; if there is a current it is possible to change and make an easy drift - South is perfect for beginners or for a second easy dive
Yellow Corner
beautiful wall; partly covered with coral in the shape of a yellow cup from top to bottom. Can't always be approached because of the weather.
7-up
