This 125-mile route, which pays tribute to the escapees who used the network of clandestine roads, includes some 30 sites around Cambridge and Chesapeake Bay. This is a very good opportunity to discover one of the little-known aspects of the country's history. You will find information, maps and brochures at the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Visitor Center in Cambridge, which is open daily from 9am to 5pm.
