HOME OF MICHAEL & ANNA ANCHER (ANCHERS HUS)
This small middle-class house in Skagen, owned by the Anchers, was previously occupied by the writer H. Drachman.
The walls of this small bourgeois house, open to the public since 1967, are covered with 200 paintings from the couple's personal collection. The interior has been recreated as it was lived in at the turn of the century. Everything here is authentic. The Anchers lived at the Hotel Brøndums before buying this house in 1884. It had previously been inhabited by the writer H. Drachman, then by two Norwegian painters. You can still feel the soul of the artists in this house.
