The Midsummer Festival (Jóansøka) is a must in Suðuroy. It alternates between even-numbered years in Vágur and odd-numbered years in Tvøroyri. The main attractions take place on Saturday, including the rowing competition (which kicks off with children's rowing at around 1 p.m.), but there are also activities from Friday to Sunday (art exhibitions, children's activities and cultural events). Please note! MS Smyril timetables change at Jóansøka, so check the ferry timetable if you plan to travel to or from Suðuroy.
