ORIGINAL GOVERNOR'S MANSION
A nice visit. This Queen Anne style manor house in the National Register of Historic Sites since 1970 was built in 1888. It is an imposing building of three levels, mixing bricks, terracotta and stone that gives it a readily identifiable ore color. It has seven chimneys and no less than 20 pieces. The manor was redeemed in 1913 to become the Governor of Montana's official residence. Between 1913 and 1959, nine Montana governors and their families lived there. The visit allows you to discover the different pieces of the manor house, but also to return to the history of the families who lived there, first when it was a private residence and then as the governor's residence.
