CONVENT OF GERAS (STIFT GERAS)
Convent built in 1153 and surrounded by parkland, with parchments, illuminations, fresco by Paul Troger, temporary exhibitions on site.
This beautiful monastery, founded in 1153, has a long cultural and spiritual history. You can see parchments, illuminations and other typical monastery treasures, but above all the only fresco signed by Paul Troger that has never been restored. The convent also organizes temporary exhibitions. The park around the monastery is particularly beautiful. It is open from Palm Sunday to All Saints' Day. There are restaurants around the monastery.
