From the temple, the passage on the right leads to the Tian Shui residence (天水堂), supposedly housing residents from the village of the same name in mainland China. As the residence is still inhabited, access is not permitted, but it is possible to admire its curved roofs through indentations in the surrounding walls. According to locals, the house opens on rare occasions, but at random dates, depending on the owner's whim. Lucky visitors can sometimes discover fascinating historical elements.
