RESERVA BIOLOGICA ISLAS NEGRITOS
Islas Negritos Biological Reserve, in the Gulf of Nicoya, home to volcanic rock promontories and marine birds
It is part of a group of islands with wonderful flora and fauna. You can admire them by taking the ferries between Puntarenas and Paquera, or the boats sailing to Isla Tortuga. A must for bird lovers, beach lovers and Robinson Crusoe wannabes. With a surface area of 80 hectares, this reserve is home to two promontories of volcanic rocks, marine birds (frigate birds, seagulls, pelicans) and especially the highly prized yellow-necked parrot.
