The visit is especially worthwhile in April and from August to September when the roses are in bloom.
This important botanical garden gathers almost all the species that the English were able to collect from the four corners of the empire. You will see in particular superb Himalayan cedars, which is always a bit surprising in Sri Lanka. There are currently almost 10,000 different species of plants, including many varieties of orchids and roses.
