CASTRO DE COAÑA
Perfectly preserved Celtic site on a small hill with an authentic village surrounded by green mountains
Nestled on a small hill, one of the few perfectly preserved Celtic sites (there are many in Galicia, but most are in ruins) whose occupation dates back to the Iron Age, around the5th century BC. This authentic village surrounded by green mountains has more than 80 houses surrounded by a low stone wall. They were once covered with thatched roofs. Do not miss the Sacred City with its old saunas. It is estimated that the village was inhabited by 150 to 200 people. It reminds us of the little village in Asterix.
