ANTWERP COURTHOUSE
Courthouse designed by architect Richard Rogers, six wings around a central public space separated by gardens
Inaugurated in March 2006, the new courthouse is worth a visit. A veritable cathedral of metal, glass and wood covering 78,000 m², it was designed by architect Richard Rogers. The building, with an impressive roof depicting the sails of a ship, consists of six wings arranged around a central public space and separated by interior gardens. It houses all of Antwerp's judicial services (except for the criminal court), which were previously scattered throughout the city.
