GROTE AND KLEINE PIETER POTSTRAAT
Two of the oldest streets in Antwerp with a medieval character, the chapel at the intersection was part of the priory of Saint-Sauveur
The two streets are perpendicular. They are two of the oldest streets in the city and still have a remarkable medieval character. The chapel at the intersection of the two streets used to be part of the priory of St. Saviour, founded by Pieter Pot, a wealthy banker and merchant who settled in Antwerp in 1404 and was known for his great generosity. The rest of the priory was sold by the French occupiers at the end of the 18th century to be used for housing.
