BRASSERIE DE GULDEN COPPE
Located near St. Catherine's Church in the center of Hoogstraten, the brasserie-restaurant De Gulden Coppe offers a warm welcome. The establishment is one of the oldest listed buildings in the Vrijheid. The first traces of the building date back to 1525, when it was known as "Stede, Huys en Hof 'De Gulden Coep'". Over the centuries, it was inhabited by members of the upper middle class, civil servants, doctors and merchants. During the Second World War, the building was damaged but restored by Sooi Brosens. Since 1965, it has belonged to the J. Machielsen-Leyten family. In 1986, the building was listed as a protected monument and restored in 1995. The brasserie-restaurant serves creative, refined cuisine.
