1,000 years the site's been occupied. How do you tell such a long story? The exhibition successfully tackles this issue by presenting various documents: engravings, archaeological remains, descriptions of travellers, photographs from the end of the 19th century... It also takes stock of the archaeological excavations carried out in recent years. In the course of its preparation, an exceptional document was found at the BNF: an 18th century watercolour plan. This is the only known representation of the park at the time of Buffon! It is carefully displayed. But the exhibition is not only interested in the past, it also looks to the future, by asking what needs to be done to conserve century-old trees. In short, a historical, playful and civic exhibition! A must see!
