City Hall with 2 buildings, the cloth market and the Grand Council Palace with lateral colonnade, in late Gothic style

The Town Hall comprises two buildings: the Cloth Hall, built in the 14th century, and the Grand Council Building (early 20th century). The cloth market is a severe stone construction, with heavy turrets on the façade. The palace, supported by a lateral colonnade, is an example of late Gothic, with a roof topped by a finely-cut stone balustrade. The interior can be visited with a guide (marriage hall, council chamber, column room with a beautiful 16th-century tapestry depicting the Battle of Tunis).

Il occupe entièrement un côté de la grande place du marché, mais il est composé de trois bâtiments contigus d'architecture fort différente. L'étude de ces trois façades est intéressantes d'autant que de nombreuses sculptures et éléments décoratifs les ornent . Prendre un verre à les contempler permet un moment de repos fort agréable

L'hôtel de ville n'est pas aussi grand et magnifique que celui de Bruxelles, mais il reste quand même l'un des principaux points d'intérêt de Malines.
