The beginnings of the Escaut brewery start in 1994, when it was still set Zeeland in the Netherlands. In 2007, faced with an important increasing demand, the owners opted to move in Belgium with Meer, a few steps away from the Dutch border. The first brews start in summer 2008.
In 2014, the managers estimated their products at 4,500 hectolitre, whose 15% are designed abroad. The three Belgium brewers officiate in Scheldebrouwerij, gust and Pol Hermans, and Peter van den Eijnde, are proud to remember that they still brew with an artisanal way with strict selection of raw materials to produce unfiltered and unpasteurised. Their systems are also used by their other colleagues.
