CAMPING ROOSENDAEL
Roosendael is a youth hostel located in Sint-Katelijne-Waver, 5 km north of Mechelen. The site, which covers around 17 hectares along the Grande Nèthe, is classified as a nature reserve and historic landscape. It is home to an 800-year-old abbey and castle, as well as several listed monuments such as the 16th-century Maison de la Peste, the 18th-century Porterie and Remise, and the presumed 19th-century Glacière. Most of the historic buildings have recently been restored. The 19th-century landscaped park, with its impressive 160-year-old trees, is also a major attraction of the estate. The estate is open daily, but some parts may be closed to certain groups.
