KASTEEL VAN DE HERTOGEN VAN BRABANT
The Castle of the Dukes of Brabant, dating from the 12th century, connected to the mainland by a drawbridge, houses the Antwerp Law Courts
The castle of the Dukes of Brabant was built in the 12th century, although it was renovated in the 20th century in a neo-Baroque style. Unfortunately, it can't be visited, as it houses the city's Palace of Justice, but there's nothing to stop you from taking a tour. It is surrounded by a flooded moat, and linked to the mainland by a drawbridge, testifying to its defensive role in the Middle Ages. Famous figures have visited its walls, from the Dukes of Burgundy to Charles V.
