JANDRAIN-JANDRENOUILLE
IV Saison, V Cense, VI Wheat
The event is rare enough to be highlighted: a new brewery was born in summer 2007 in the Walloon Brabant. It bears the rather rustic name of Jandrain-Jandrenouille, as that of the town where it is located, in the former farmhouse of Féculerie. After the acquisition of brewing amenities with a French brewery, Alexandre Dumont de Chassart, a training engineer, has quickly immersed his fourquet in the tanks to release a IV Saison unfiltered, unpasteurized and refermented in bottle. Displaying 6.5% alc. vol., it smells a nice fresh hops fragrance and owes its name to the four elements necessary to make it (water, malt, yeast and hops) while paying homage to the type of "Saison" beer.
Since its launch in September 2007 (10 years already!), the IV Saison was joined by two new products, the V Cense, amber, subtle blend of 3 different malts and hops of 7.5% alc. vol. and the VI Wheat, soft wheat beer with fruity flavours generated by different varieties of hops with 6% alc. vol. All these products are available in bottles of 75 cl, and barrels of 20 litres.
Note that the labels were designed by the comic book artist François Schuiten. Alexandre still continues his way. He also launches the return of beers fallen into disuse like the Archiduc and he brew for third parties "with the Jandrain-Jandrenouille touch".
