TUILERIE LAURENT
The Laurent tile factory was founded in 1862, it is the last manufacturer of handmade tiles in Côte-d'Or and Burgundy. The Auxois clay deposit is located near the tile factory, the extraction of the necessary stock is done once a year. The clay, dark green and rich in iron oxide, turns red when fired (48 hours at 1040°). The raw material is ground under a granite millstone before being mixed with other ingredients such as volcanic rock and sand. It is Colin Laurent, heir of this know-how who, alone, makes this craft heritage work. The tile factory only works on small series, it is specialized in the production of custom-made pieces for the renovation of the heritage and proposes its creations, tiles, bricks and old-fashioned tomettes of any beauty, wine racks. It is possible to visit the tile factory free of charge during the Heritage Days. The showroom is open 7 days a week. You can also visit the website to discover the range of products!
