BOUSSU CASTLE
Castle considered the largest Renaissance castle in the Netherlands, allowing to discover archaeological campaigns.
Boussu Castle has long been considered the largest Renaissance castle in the Netherlands. It is the work of Jacques du Broeucq. It was completely destroyed in 1810. Long awaiting a rehabilitation, the first shots of the restoration are given in September 2010. The ruins and the archaeological site are surrounded by a park of 12 ha English style. The Interpretation Centre, installed in the former châtelet, allows visitors to discover all these archaeological campaigns. Also to be discovered: the funeral chapel of the Lords of Boussu.
