LA CONFRÉRIE DES CHEVALIERS DU TASTEVIN
November 16, 1934 in a cellar of Nuits-Saint-Georges. In the midst of economic crisis, a few Burgundy winemakers decided to revive a disappeared brotherhood in the eighteenth century: The Knights of the Tasteful Wine. Wine tasting is a wine tasting tool which dates back to the fifteenth century, traditionally offered to the children of the families of winemakers when baptized. The knights' goal is simple: highlight Burgundy, its great wines, its parties, its folklore… The Brotherhood is at the origin of the Saint Vincent Tourante Festival, which meets every year at the end of January the winemakers of all Burgundy around a village and a name, and the restoration of the Château du Clos de Vougeot, where several times a year are celebrated (16) chapters (great festive dinners) which bring together 600 guests including many personalities. During these wonderful meals, very popular but for which you need to be invited by a Knight, you can enjoy 7 dishes that come with 7 wines! In addition to traditional eggs (the best ones you're ever tasted) Chef Olivier Walch offers beautiful dishes like Le Soufflé de Brochet to the Crayfish that we were able to taste some time ago! On the other hand, the Brotherhood introduced the Tastevinage in 1950, which aims to contribute to improving the quality of wine. Choosing a vinyl bottle is a guarantee of authenticity, quality and pleasure!
