Angélus (Blonde, Brune, Spéciale Noël), La Sambresse

Alain Brootcoorens has started his brewing activity for a decade now. He performs this art each Saturday especially with the assistance of voluntary from Hainaut as well as from... France, with his facilities being located about ten meters from the border. The production of Alain and his band, estimated at some 150 hectolitres per year, are divided perfectly between the very custom-made mash tubs and indigenous production, the latter giving rooms and space to Angélus. L'Angélus Spéciale Noël and Sambresse are also from the tanks of Erquelinnes but in less quantity. Just opposite the brasserie, several hundreds of hops seedlings are laid out, which makes the place "the only hop field with didactic and tourist vocation of Wallonia". Besides, the Brootcoorens d' Erquelinnes brewery organizes each September the Festival of hops in Val de Sambre, with in particular a competition of the best hops pickers.
