THE FORTIFIED CASTLE-FARM OF RAMPEMONT
Castle-farm of Rampemont, a vast quadrilateral which preserves several vestiges of the old fortified residence in Honnelles.
The castle-farm of Rampemont (XVIth-XVIIth) has been the property of Mr and Mrs Schneider for nearly 20 years. They fell in love with the place, and have worked on its restoration and are now cultivating its preservation by opening the estate to the public on request and during specific activities. This vast quadrilateral preserves several vestiges of the former fortified residence (notably a bastioned portal) which was once the seat of the seigneury of Rampemont, which played an important role in the county of Hainaut. Built around an enclosed square courtyard and defended by a powerful entrance porch flanked by two square towers, it now preserves two 17th century dwellings, a coach house, a barn, stables and various annexes. The agenda of visits, workshops and other activities can be found on the Facebook page.
